The Jewellers Journal - Looking ahead to 2027

The Jewellers Journal - Looking ahead to 2027

It’s that time of year again, the moment when jewellers across the country collectively look up from their benches, wipe the polishing compound off their hands, and say, “Right… what’s going to be popular next year?”

We love our classics, of course. The timeless solitaires, the heirloom sapphires, the pieces that never go out of style. But staying ahead of the trends is part of the job, and 2027 is already shaping up to be an interesting one.

What’s Coming in 2027
Three big trends are already making themselves known:

  • East–west settings — That elegant sideways orientation that makes a diamond look instantly modern and architectural.
  • Coloured gemstones — Not just the usual suspects, but vibrant, unusual shades that feel personal and expressive.
  • Modern diamond cuts — Expect more elongated shapes, geometric silhouettes, and stones that don’t fit the traditional mould.

Luckily, we’re not scrambling. In fact, we’re in a cracking position.

Our Colour Game Is Strong
As I’ve mentioned in previous blogs, we’ve built a genuinely brilliant collection of coloured gemstones over the years, the kind that make you stop mid‑sentence and say, “Oh wow… look at that.”

And now, with Matt officially qualified as our in‑house gem expert, we’re even better placed to help customers choose stones that feel meaningful, magical, and completely unique. 2027 wants colour, and we’re ready.

Unusual Cuts? No Problem
Modern diamond cuts are getting more adventurous, and we’re here for it.
Because we design and custom‑make our own ring mounts, we can accommodate:

  • elongated shapes
  • geometric cuts
  • east–west layouts
  • stones that don’t fit standard settings

If it’s unusual, we can build around it. Honestly, we love the challenge.

And Yes… The C Word
We’re heading down to London this month for the 2026 UK Jewellery Show, hoping to pick up some new collections just in time for Christmas.

Yes, I said it.
The C word.

But here’s the thing, if customers are thinking about bespoke pieces for Christmas, it’s really not too early. Bespoke jewellery takes time: designing, sourcing stones, crafting, finishing… it’s a process worth doing properly.

The good news?
You don’t have to pay the full amount upfront.
You can get the design started and chip away at the balance whenever it suits you.

So the sooner you get your designs booked in, the longer you’ve got to spread the cost — and the more relaxed the whole experience becomes.

Ready for 2027
Between our gemstone collection, our custom‑making abilities, and Matt’s gem expertise, we’re already in a strong position for next year’s trends. And with new collections incoming from the London show, we’re excited to bring fresh ideas to our fantastic customers.

If you’re thinking about a bespoke piece for Christmas, for next year, or just because, now’s a brilliant time to start the conversation.
